Should you have free time, you can visit the prehistoric hill of Goulas [above Kastellia], but also take a hiking tour from the traditional village of Karavostasi to Akrotiri Xili, an easy to walk route of 3.8 km, with an incredible view.

A beautiful day trip from Laconia Domus can combine the Castle of Monemvasia, the cave of Kastania, and swimming on the beaches along the way. Kastania Cave has been distinguished as one of the richest caves in Europe, which definitely worth your visit. You will get there following the route Neapoli - Lachi (Kalenia) - Paradisi - Kastania - Cave [distance from Laconia Domus 51 km] through a mountain route full of trees to the southern end of the cape of Malea, and you will discover a magical hidden treasure with incomparable stone decor. The cave, with an area of 1,500 sq.m., is divided into two levels and is suitable for walking on a route of 500 m., where you will admire limestones of Jurassic age (145 to 195 million years) and strange formations of stalactites and stalagmites.

The large, organized beach of Selinitsa in the area of Valtaki with a rusty hull in the sand since 1981, 5 km from Gytheion, is a tourist attraction that has attracted dozens of visitors in recent years. Next stop the wonderful, picturesque historic town of Gytheion, amphitheatrically built around a safe harbor. The “Land of the Gods” will enchant you, with the beautiful two-story and three-story neoclassical buildings along the port, the Girl’s School, a piece by Ziller, the Archaeological Museum, but also the picturesque island of Kranai, which hosts the Historical and Ethnological Museum of Mani in the traditional, stone tower [1826] of the chief and third bey of Mani Tzanetakis Grigorakis.
